Abstract:
Provided is an economical ball joint which can maintain good sealing properties even when the film of a dust cover is pulled, and which can improve the assembling properties of the dust cover. A ball joint (10) is provided with a ball stud (12) which has a ball head (16), a socket (32) which rotatably receives the ball head (16) and has an opening (34) at one end, and a dust cover (36). The ball stud (12) is provided with a first flange (20), an intermediate shaft (22), and a second flange (24). The dust cover (36) is provided with: an inner circumference section (44) fitted with the intermediate shaft (22) interposed between the first flange (20) and the second flange (24); a lip (50) brought into close contact with the second flange (24); and a protrusion (46) which forms a gap (48) in at least one location and is in contact with the second flange (24).
