Abstract:
A ball-ramp mechanism wherein: a driving rotor (51) and a driven rotor (52) are disposed facing each other on the same axis; on the respective surfaces of the two rotors (51, 52) that face each other, three sets of opposing paired arc-shaped ramp grooves (56, 57), the groove depths of which change gradually in the circumferential direction and the directions of said change being in opposite directions, are provided at equal intervals in the circumferential direction; balls (53) are inserted between each of the opposing paired ramp grooves (56, 57) and the balls are held by a cage (60); pillar sections (62), which are formed between the pockets (61) of the cage (60), are given a flexibility that allows elastic deformation; and the elastic deformation of the pillar sections (62) absorbs dimensional variations in the ramp grooves (56, 57) due to manufacturing and each of the multiple balls (53) are made to contact the ramp grooves (56, 57) uniformly.
