Abstract:
This ball rotation amount measurement system is capable of highly accurately measuring the amount of rotation of a ball. This ball rotation amount measurement system (1) is provided with a magnetic sensor (2) that is fixed to a ball and is for measuring geomagnetism in at least one axial direction and a calculation unit (3) for using a plurality of items of geomagnetic data acquired sequentially by the magnetic sensor (2) to calculate the amount of rotation of the ball. The calculation unit (3) has a difference data calculation unit (31) for calculating difference data consisting of differences between pairs of sequentially adjacent items of magnetic data and thereby sequentially obtaining a plurality of items of difference data, a difference waveform calculation unit (32) for determining a difference waveform that is the waveform of the temporal variation of the plurality of items of difference data, and a rotation amount calculation unit (33) for calculating the ball rotation amount on the basis of information about a zero-cross point at which the difference waveform crosses a straight line of zero difference in a prescribed period.
