Abstract:
Provided is a method which enables a ball screw nut to be provided with a ball circulation groove and a ball rolling groove on the inner circumferential surface thereof without misalignment in the axial, circumferential, and radial directions of the nut. A recessed portion (102) is formed on an end face (111a) of a flange (111) and then a blank (101) is attached to a chuck (130) to continually grind the inner circumferential surface (101a) thereof and the end face (111a) and an outer circumferential surface (111b) of the flange (111). This allows for reducing the concentricity between the inner circumferential surface (101a) of the blank (101) and the outer circumferential surface (111b) of the flange (111) as well as the orthogonality of the end face (111a) of the flange (111) to the inner circumferential surface (101a) of the blank (101). With the recessed portion (102) employed as a phase reference, the end face (111a) as an axial reference, and the outer circumferential surface (111b) as a radial reference, performed are a step of forming the ball circulation groove on the inner circumferential surface (101a) of the blank (101) by plastic working and a step of forming the ball rolling groove by cutting.
