Abstract:
Provided are a ball screw nut which can be formed precisely by downsizing a roll die and decreasing a working force even for those having a small diameter, and which accomplishes cost reduction, and a manufacturing method for the same. The ball screw nut 2 has spiral thread grooves 2a along which a large number of balls 4 roll, formed in the inner circumference surface thereof. The ball screw nut 2 is provided with a coil member 5 which is formed by winding a hard steel wire, and in which the spiral thread grooves 2a are formed in the inner circumference thereof, and a sleeve 6 that houses therein the coil member 5. The sleeve 6 is formed in a cylindrical shape by press working a thin steel plate that is formed of case-hardened steel, and is integrally provided, at both ends, with flanges 6a, 6b which extend radially inward and which fasten the coil member 5 so as to immobilize the coil member 5 in the axial direction. In addition, the thread grooves 2a are each formed between adjoining wire pieces of the coil member 5 by rolling. Hence, a working force in the rolling for the nut 2 can be lessened, and thus the thread grooves 2a can be formed having highly precise grooves.
