Abstract:
The present invention relates to a ball-and-socket type tilting pad journal bearing for reducing friction between a tilting pad and a pivot, and provides a ball-and-socket type tilting pad journal bearing comprising: a cylindrical housing body; a plurality of tilting pads arranged at the inner side of the housing body along the circumference thereof, each tilting pad having a concave socket formed on a side surface thereof that faces the inner surface of the housing body; and a plurality of pivots, each of which is fixed to the inner surface of the housing body and has a curved surface inserted in a socket of each tilting pad, wherein at least one of the outer circumferential surface of each of the pivots and the socket of each of the tilting pads has an oil collection portion for collecting oil.
