Abstract:

A ballast treatment device having a device for injecting bromine salt and ozone according to the present invention supplies bromine salt, when equilibrium water is treated in an area deficient in bromine salt, thereby increasing the amount of residual ozone and reaction products, maximizing the efficiency of sterilization of living organisms in the equivalent water, and suppressing regrowth thereof. The ballast water treatment device has a bromine salt injection device additionally mounted thereon, thereby improving the shortcomings of existing ozone treatment schemes. In addition, the ballast water treatment device has a side stream portion added thereto and, in order to inject bromine salt into seawater that has branched off from ballast piping, comprises a bromine salt injection portion, an ozone injection device, a mixer for mixing ozone and seawater, and an injector for injecting treated seawater back into the ballast piping. Accordingly, the ballast treatment device supplements the short ozone remaining time, which is a shortcoming of existing ozone treatment schemes, and guarantees efficient formation of hypobromous acid without being affected by conditions of seawater in the water intake area, such as seawater having a low bromine salt content or low-salinity water, thereby providing a continuous sterilization effect in the ballast tank.
