Abstract:
It is intended to provide a balloon catheter, wherein the balloon is made of a thin film and can be folded into a small size upon shrinkage and the thin film has a high strength and is excellent in pressure resistance upon inflation so as to achieve favorable handling properties and a high safety, and a process for producing a balloon for balloon catheters. A process for producing a balloon for balloon catheters characterized by comprising forming a highly strong resin film by deposition polymerization or coating on a balloon mold made of a water−soluble polymer resin and then taking off the balloon mold.
