Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a balloon catheter which exhibits improved tracking of a guide wire in a curved state. [Solution] An inside shaft 130 of a balloon catheter 10 has a tube body 140 having a first bore 145, and also has a tip member 200 which is positioned on the tip side of the tube body, has a second bore 205, and is configured from a more flexible material than is the material of the tube body. A balloon 300 has a tip-side securing region 310 which constitutes the locations of securing to the inside shaft. The center axis c1 of the second bore of the tip member is coaxial with the center axis c1 of the first bore in the tip section of the tube body. In addition, the thickness of the tip member which forms the second bore is uneven on the tip side of the balloon tip-side securing region, when viewing a cross-section perpendicular to the axis.
