Abstract:
A band saw device having a body frame; a pair of wheels provided in parallel to the
body frame and rotating by driving force on the same slope surface sloping relative
to a body frame foundation surface that is in parallel to a work cutting surface;
a loop-like band saw passed under tension between the pair of wheels; a deviation
prevention member for moving the band saw entering into a work cutting zone located
where the slope surface crosses the foundation surface, the movement of the band
saw being performed at a position between the pair of wheels, in the vicinity of
the work cutting section, so that the band saw is close to the foundation surface
while being in parallel to the surface; and a band saw pressing mechanism next
to the work cutting zone side of the deviation prevention member and eliminating
a clearance between the band saw and the foundation surface. When the band saw
device is used, for example, to remove a projection on a floor surface on the bottom
of a ship being built, the device can cut and completely remove the projection
from its root and therefore labor for finishing can be saved.
