Abstract:

A band saw machine, wherein a pair of guide posts (7L) and (7R) vertically guiding a vertically movable saw blade housing rotatably supporting a drive wheel (17) and a driven wheel (21) are installed between the drive wheel (17) and the driven wheel (21). The upper travel part (23U) of a band saw blade (23) is disposed on the rear side of the guide posts (7L) and (7R), and the lower travel part (23L) of the band saw blade (23U) is disposed on the front side of the guide posts (7L) and (7R). When the band saw machine is viewed from the side, a width between the intersections of the axes of the both wheels (17) and (21) with the centerline of the width of the wheels is approximately equal to a width between the guide posts (7L) and (7R).
