Abstract:
The band saw machine is provided with: a base that supports the workpiece; a pair of columns erected on the base and separated in the Y-direction, which is orthogonal to the X-direction; a saw blade housing equipped with a beam section, which is provided to span between the pair of columns and be movable in the vertical direction and which extends in the Y-direction, and respective wheel support sections that are integrated with the two ends of the beam section and are formed so as to protrude downward; saw blade wheels that are each provided on the tips of the pair of wheel support sections in the saw blade housing so as to be rotatable around shaft centers parallel to the direction of movement of the saw blade housing and that turn and support the band saw blade; and a pair of saw blade guides that are provided on the beam section in the saw blade housing on the column side and separated in the Y-direction and that guide and support the band saw blade in the cutting direction without twisting the portion of the band saw blade that is near the columns when the tooth points of the band saw blade are facing downward.
