Title:
BANDSAW BLADE FOR METAL AND A METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A BANDSAW BLADE WITH TEETH
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/042029
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A bandsaw blade for sawing of metal where each tooth has a narrow flat land (12) without clearance angle and a sharp cutting edge (14) in front, manufactured by moving the blade longitudinally with the tips of the teeth in contact with one or more slowly rotating hones (11) before possible setting and before joining to loops, thus providing less risk of tooth damage, less cutting force and greatly reduced noise. The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a bandsaw blade with teeth.

CLAIMS
| 1. | A bandsaw blade for sawing of metal and provided with teeth, character ized by each tooth having on the clearance side a narrow flat land (12) without clearance angle, said land having at its leading edge a sharp cutting edge (14). |
| 2. | A bandsaw blade according to claim 1, characterized by said lands being free of scratches and having less surface unevenness than other surfaces of the teeth. |
| 3. | A bandsaw blade according to claim 2, characterized by the width of said lands not exceeding 10 percent of the pitch distance between the teeth. |
| 4. | A method for manufacturing a bandsaw blade with teeth, characterized by the saw blade (10) before possible setting and before joining to loops being longitudinally moved with the teeth in contact with one or more slowly rotating hones (11) thereby providing each tooth with a flat land (12) on the clearance side, the leading edge of said land being a sharp cutting edge (14). |
