Abstract:
Disclosed is a bandwidth extension device provided with a base frequency analysis unit (1), an out-of-band component generation unit (2), a frequency characteristic control unit (3), an out-of-band component adjusting unit (4) and a signal mixing unit (5). The base frequency analysis unit (1) analyzes the height of the base frequency on the basis of an input signal restricted to a first band. The out-of-band component generation unit (2) generates a signal which includes a second band which is outside the first band, on the basis of the input signal. The frequency characteristic control unit (3) controls a frequency characteristic for the second band such that the difference in power between the input signal and the signal including the second band is smaller when the base frequency is high than when the base frequency is low. The out-of-band component adjusting unit (4) applies the frequency characteristic for the second band to the signal including the second band and generates a signal including the second band that has been adjusted with the frequency characteristic. The signal mixing unit (5) mixes the input signal with the generated signal including the second band that has been adjusted with the frequency characteristic.
