Abstract:
A banknote handling apparatus that improves the identification count handling efficiency by feeding banknotes targeted for re-counting and paper notes not targeted for re-counting to different reject sections. The banknote handling apparatus is provided with at least one pile-up section as well as first and second reject sections. The banknote handling apparatus includes a receiving section to receive the paper notes, a first judging section to judge whether or not the paper notes received by the receiving section are specified banknotes, a second judging section to judge whether or not the paper notes that are not judged to be specified banknotes by the first judging section are dissimilar banknotes, a feeding section to feed the paper notes received by the receiving section to the pile-up section, the first reject section, or the second reject section, and a control section to control the feeding section such that the paper notes that are judged to be specified banknotes by the first judging section are fed to the pile-up section, and the paper notes that are judged to be dissimilar banknotes by the second judging section are fed to the first reject section, while the paper notes that are not judged to be dissimilar banknotes by the second judging section are fed to the second reject section.
