Abstract:
Provided is a banknote processing device that reduces branching within the transfer paths of the banknote processing device and simplifies said transfer paths. The banknote processing device is provided with: a customer service unit that accepts inserted banknotes; an identification unit that attempts to count the bank notes, the insertion of which has been accepted by the customer service unit; a temporary holding unit that holds the banknotes counted by the identification unit; a reject collection unit that stores the banknotes that could not be counted by the identification unit; and a storage unit that cancels the holding of banknotes by the temporary holding unit and stores the banknotes that were being held by the temporary holding unit. The temporary holding unit has a configuration that allows the passage of banknotes transferred from the customer service unit or the identification unit to the reject collection unit.
