Abstract:
A bar-like-workpiece conveying device is provided with a conveyor (11) for conveying bar-like workpieces (7) such as brush handles, and also with an advance device (12) for receiving workpieces (7), which are discharged from the conveyor (11), in such a manner that the workpieces (7) are in a laterally oriented position, arraying the received workpieces, and discharging the workpieces on a one-by-one basis to the downstream side. The advance device (12) is provided with: a chute (121) provided in a tilted position at the discharge end of the conveyor (11); a gate section (122) provided near the lower end of the chute (121) and capable of being switched between a closed position at which a workpiece dropping along the chute (121) is stopped and an open position at which the workpiece is allowed to drop; and an engagement section (123) provided on the upstream side of the gate section (122) and pressing a workpiece (7), which is located on the chute (121), against the chute (121) to prevent the workpiece (7) from dropping. The gate section (122) is first set to the closed position, then the drop of a workpiece (7) is stopped by the engagement section (123), and after that the gate section (122) is set to the open position to discharge the workpiece (7).
