Abstract:
Provided is a barrier discharge ignition apparatus that is capable of accurately determining the applied voltage of a barrier ignition plug for causing non-ignition discharging. This barrier discharge ignition apparatus is configured such that in combustion assistance control, a voltage difference (Vd) between the voltage applied in the present cycle and the voltage applied in the immediately preceding cycle in an AC cycle is calculated on the basis of applied voltages detected by a voltage detection circuit (14), and the presence or absence of discharging of a barrier ignition plug is determined through comparison of the voltage difference (Vd) with preset discharge determination threshold values (VJH, VJL).
