Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a barrier material that has a high biomass degree and results in a low CO2 discharge amount, further has biodegradable properties, and has both an excellent gas barrier performance and an excellent water vapor barrier performance, the barrier material being particularly suitable for use in packaging applications such as bags, paper containers, cardboard boxes, cups, and packaging materials such as those for foods. As a solution, the present invention provides a barrier material having an oxygen permeability of 10 ml/m2•day•atm at a temperature of 23°C and a relative humidity of 0%, and an overall biomass degree of at least 50%.
