Abstract:
A base material for clad steel according to an embodiment of the present invention is characterized by having a composition containing, in terms of mass%, 0.04-0.10% C, 0.10-0.30% Si, 1.30-1.60% Mn, no more than 0.015% P, no more than 0.005% S, 0.10-0.50% Ni, no more than 0.10% Cr, no more than 0.05% Cu, 0.05-0.40% Mo, 0.02-0.06% V, no more than 0.03% Nb, 0.005-0.025% Ti, 0.020-0.050% Al, and 0.0030-0.0100% N, the remainder comprising Fe and unavoidable impurities, the carbon equivalent Ceq according to formula (1) (Ceq = C + Mn/6 + (Ni + Cu)/15 + (Cr + Mo + V)/5 (mass%)) in said composition being 0.0400 or less, and the yield ratio Y. R. in formula (2) (Y. R. = Y. S. (MPa; 0.5% under load)/T. S. (MPa)) being less than 0.80.
