Abstract:
Provided is a base station capable of changing measurement gap settings, and also provided is a handover method. A base station (101) which belongs to a first system and communicates with a wireless communication terminal (107) is provided with: a transmitter/receiver unit (121) which receives, from the wireless communication terminal (107), the communication quality between the actual station (101) and an adjacent base station (103) that belongs to the first system and is adjacent to the actual station (101); and a controller (123) which performs control in such a way that, when the communication quality is equal to or greater than a first threshold value, a message to disable communication quality measurement of a base station (105) belonging to a second system that differs from the first system is transmitted from the transmitter/receiver unit (121) to the wireless communication terminal (107).
