Abstract:
A base station for allocating a frequency to a pilot signal of the uplink in a radio communication
system stores correspondence relationships between a plurality of pilot sequences
having different peak-to-average power characteristics and a plurality of
frequencies used in frequency-multiplexing each of the pilot sequences. The
correspondence relationships are made to be different in the adjacent cells
or sectors. The base station then measures the reception quality of a signal
received from a user terminal, refers to the stored correspondence relationships,
determines a pilot sequence having peak-to-average power characteristics corresponding
to the reception quality, and instructs the user terminal to transmit the pilot
sequences by using frequency allocated to the pilot sequence.
