Abstract:
A base station (1) that communicates with a mobile station (5) intermittently performing a reception operation during periodic reception time periods is characterized by comprising: an allocation unit (107) that allocates a preamble to the mobile station (5); a start request signal generation unit (111) that generates a start request signal including the preamble allocated to the mobile station (5) and requesting a start of synchronization processing between the mobile station and the base station; and a beam control unit (105) which, during a reception time period, causes the start request signal to be transmitted in a plurality of directions while changing the direction of a directive beam (2) for transmitting the start request signal, and which determines, on the basis of the direction of the directive beam at the time of reception of the preamble transmitted by the mobile station (5) having received the start request signal, the direction of the directive beam when communicating with the mobile station (5).
