| CLAIMS 1. Base for supporting and holding a parasol characterized in that it consists of a flexible base (1), on the upper- or under- side of which, there exist anti-slip teeth (3) that are inclined towards the centre of the flexible base (1), where on said flexible base (1) and in the centre thereof a clamping mechanism (2) for the pole (4) of the parasol is arranged, where said flexible base (1) is positioned on the ground and it is covered from the existing material of the ground up to the point of the clamping mechanism (2), where said flexible base (1) can be adapted on any kind of ground. 2. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claim 1 , characterized in that it can have any geometrical shape and dimensions. 3. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that it is constructed by any flexible material (plastic, cloth, etc.) with or without the addition of fibres. 4. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claims 1 , 2 and 3, characterized in that the flexible material of the base (1) includes reinforcing ribs. 5. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claims 1 , 2, 3 and 4, characterized in that the clamping mechanism (2) can accept a parasol pole (4) of any diameter. 6. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claim 5, characterized in that the clamping mechanism (2) performs its clamping function either by rotation or by a lever or by any other way. 7. Base for supporting and holding a parasol according to claims 1-7, characterized in that the anti-slip teeth (3) can have any size or geometrical shape and are placed on the upper- and/or under- side of the flexible base (1) in any arrangement and plurality. 8. Use of the base for supporting and holding a parasol, characterized in that it can be placed on any kind of ground in order to hold the parasol stable against strong wind. |
This invention refers to a base for a parasol consisting of a special flexible anti-slip cloth and a clamping mechanism and holder for the pole of a parasol. The bases that are known in the prior art are bulky, awkward, difficult to carry, whereas a few of them require filling with water, which is an inconvenient procedure for the user.
The advantage of the object of this invention is its simplicity of use, its light weight, its minimal volume, its full adaptability on any kind of ground, its minimal cost and the total windbreak security of the parasol.
The new base of support (1) according to the present invention is characterized in that it consists of flexible material, (plastic or cloth), bearing anti- slip teeth (3) on any of its sides, which teeth are of any size and geometrical shape so that a total hold of the parasol is being achieved. It can have any geometrical structure and dimension, proportional to the size and the shape of the parasol.
It can also include reinforcing ribs. The number, shape and size of the anti- slip teeth (3) can be proportional to the size of the base (1). The clamping mechanism (2) has the ability of being adapted to any diameter of the pole (4) of the parasol, as well as it can be put in function by a lever, screw or any other mode of clamping.
Figures 1 and 2 show the adaptation of the base (1 ) on the pole (4) of the parasol. The flexible base (1) includes embedded teeth (3) either on the underside or the upper side of the base (1). The teeth (3) are inclined towards the centre of the base (1). On application, after passing the pole (4) through the base (1) with the embedded clamping mechanism (2), the pole (4) is inserted into the ground (sand, pebbles, earth etc.), the flexible base (1) with the teeth (3) is spread on the ground, and sand or pebbles or earth (depending on the ground, where the parasol is positioned) is moved onto the base (1). Immediately after that, the mechanism (2) is secured by lifting the same for as upward as the base (1) permits. In particular, figure 2 shows the positioning of the flexible base (1) with the teeth (3) on the underside thereof on inclined ground. Another embodiment of the invention is the use of ribs in the flexible base (1), so that its rigidity is reinforced and at the same time increased security is incurred with regard to holding the parasol in place, depending on the kind of ground upon which the parasol is to be positioned.
