Abstract:
An embodiment of the present invention can provide a high-efficiency, high-stability, and high-reliability battery condition monitoring device and method and battery protection device, the battery protection device comprising: a first current sensor positioned at the positive end of a battery to measure a first current value; a second current sensor positioned at the negative end of the battery to measure a second current value; contactors including a first contactor positioned between the positive end of the battery and the first current sensor and a second contactor positioned between the negative end of the battery and the second current sensor; and a control unit which calculates a representative current value among the first current value and the second current value to determine whether an abnormal current is present, wherein current is measured and monitored using the different types of current sensors such that stable measurement of the current of the battery is possible even when one of the current sensors fails, and the battery is protected from the abnormal current on the basis of the representative current value of the battery.
