Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for operating a battery, in particular a high-voltage battery, comprising a battery management system, wherein the following steps are run through: - acquiring the cell voltage of at least one battery cell, - acquiring the associated cell pack voltage of the at least one battery cell, - evaluating the cell voltage and the cell pack voltage by way of an analysis program on a microprocessor in a main control unit, with an overheating warning message being triggered when the cell voltage decreases by a defined cell fault value and the cell pack voltage decreases by a defined pack fault value within a defined measuring period. The invention also encompasses a battery, in particular a high-voltage battery (HV battery), on which the method is able to be carried out.
