The invention proposes a battery (200) comprising a battery controller (40) and a battery cell (100) having a housing (70) and an electrode arrangement (10) which is arranged in the housing (70) of the battery cell (100), wherein the battery controller (40) is designed to receive a temperature (T) which is measured directly within the battery cell (100). The battery controller (40) is further designed to calculate the battery voltage (U) as a function of the battery resistance, wherein the battery resistance is given as a function of the temperature (T) which is measured directly within the battery housing (70). The invention further proposes a motor vehicle having a battery (200) according to the invention.
