Abstract:
Battery comprising fluid consuming cell with cell housing comprising one or more fluid entry ports, housing further comprising a first housing component and a second housing component, a gasket disposed therebetween, a first fluid consuming electrode disposed within said cell housing in electrical contact with said first housing component, and a second electrode disposed within said cell housing in electrical contact with said second housing component; and a fluid regulating system comprising a valve for adjusting the rate of passage of the fluid into said first fluid consuming electrode and an actuator for operating said valve, said actuator is responsive to a cell voltage appearing between said first and second housing components of said cell housing, wherein said at least one fluid consuming cell further comprises an electrical conductor passing through a portion of said gasket to electrically couple said second housing component to said actuator.
