Abstract:
A battery management device according to the present invention comprises: a voltage measurement circuit for measuring a cell voltage of each of multiple battery cells; and a control unit for determining the cell voltage of each of the multiple battery cells and a reference voltage of the multiple battery cells at every set time in an idle period. The control unit determines a first accumulated variance of the cell voltage of each battery cell in the idle period. The control unit determines a second accumulated variance of the reference voltage in the idle period. The control unit decides whether each cell is abnormal, by comparing the first accumulated variance of each battery cell with the second accumulated variance.
