Title:
BATTERY MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND POWER SUPPLY DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/087487
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention detects, with a high degree of accuracy, a break in voltage detection lines connected to a battery pack and a plurality of cascade-connected voltage detection circuits and maintains an SOC balance between the battery cells of the battery pack. A plurality of cascade-connected voltage detection ICs (1-4) detect, via a plurality of voltage detection lines, the voltages of a plurality of serially connected battery cells that compose a battery pack. The plurality of voltage detection ICs (1-4) operate by receiving power from the battery pack. The plurality of voltage detection ICs (1-4) are connected by communication lines, and at least one of the plurality of voltage detection ICs (1-4) is connected to a control circuit (7). First to third dummy resistors (R1-R3) are connected to the voltage detection ICs (1-3) from among the plurality of voltage detection ICs (1-4) that do not directly communicate with the control circuit (7). First to third switches (S1-S3) respectively turn the supply of current to the first to third dummy resistors (R1-R3) on and off.
