Abstract:
The present invention relates to a battery management system and method that can accurately measure the characteristics of a battery cell and to a battery pack comprising same. The battery pack, according to one embodiment of the present invention, may comprise: a battery module that includes a plurality of battery cells; at least one reference cell that has a larger number of electrodes than the battery cells; and a battery management system that controls the battery cells and the reference cell, wherein the battery management system may measure a first voltage of the battery cells and a second voltage of the reference cell, and determine the state of the battery module on the basis of the difference between the first voltage and the second voltage.
