Title:
BATTERY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, BATTERY SYSTEM, MOTOR VEHICLE AND METHOD FOR GENERATING A PERIODIC ALTERNATING VOLTAGE (BATTERY DIRECT INVERTER)
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/040780
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a battery management system for a battery module bank (70-1, 70-m) having battery modules (60) that can be connected electrically positively or negatively, individually or serially, to terminals of the battery module bank (70-1, 70-m) and individually disconnected electrically. The battery module bank (70-1, 70-m) is suitable for generating an alternating voltage by disconnecting and connecting the battery modules (60). The battery management system is characterized in that it is able to assign each battery module a respective time period, during which the battery module is connected electrically during a half-period, depending on the position of said battery module in a battery module list. This permits a hierarchical arrangement of the battery modules in accordance with performance capability, for example determined by using charging state and/or state of health, and therefore permits the module loadings to be balanced out.
