Abstract:

A battery module according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a battery cell; and a module case in which the battery cell is received, wherein a fire-extinguishing agent supply channel is provided inside the module case on at least one side of the module case, the fire-extinguishing agent supply channel being connected to a fire-extinguishing tank unit having a fire-extinguishing agent contained therein, so as to directly spray the inside of the module case with the fire-extinguishing agent when thermal runaway or a fire occurs in the battery cell.
