Abstract:
A battery pack comprises of plurality of cell modules, a battery management system, heat spreaders, housing and a cover. The cell module comprises of a number of individual cylindrical cells in a cluster, held in position by appropriate insulating cell holders which are designed not only hold the cells in position, but also resist deformation in the shock and vibration encountered in vehicular applications. The cells in said module are electrically interconnected with thick nickel strips, welded by special shaped electrodes to the cell terminals to achieve the necessary voltage and power rating with minimal electrical loss.
