Abstract:

Power is supplied through an electronic connection section (3) to an electronic device (1) from a battery pack (2) detachably attached to the electronic device (1). By using communication lines, e.g., data lines (3h, 3f) and clock lines (3i, 3g) for intercommunication between the battery pack (2) and the device (1), a CPU (2f) of the battery pack (2) recognizes the signal statuses of the communication lines to check whether the battery pack (2) is electrically connected to or disconnected from the connection section of the device (1). As a result, the number of connecting terminals used for electrically connecting a battery pack to an electronic device can be reduced, which in turn contributes to reducing the size and solving the problem of defective contacts between terminals.
