Abstract:
Provided is a battery pack system which makes it possible to align voltage and/or charging states of a battery pack system in a short time without feeding an excessive current to the batteries. The battery pack system 1 comprises: a unit serial battery pack P11 in which a plurality of cells are serially connected; a unit battery pack SP1 which serially connects the unit serial battery packs P11; resistors connected in parallel to the respective cells and a bypass switch Sw111 serially connected to the resistors; a main circuit switch serially connected to each of the unit serial battery packs; and a balancing control unit 11 which levels voltage and/or charged states between cells in the unit serial battery pack. The balancing control unit 11 calculates a leveled target value to be achieved by leveling the voltage and/or charged states of the cells, and includes a switch selection unit 13 which instructs ON-OFF of the main circuit switch PW11 for leveling operations and the bypass switch in the serial battery pack, wherein, when the cell state is smaller than the target value, the switch selection unit 13 instructs to turn ON the main circuit switch that is serially connected to the unit serial battery pack including the cells, and turn OFF the bypass switch that is connected in parallel to the cells.
