Abstract:
A battery pack connected to a host system comprises: a relay connected between a battery terminal on the battery pack and the host system; at least two battery modules including a plurality of cells that are serially connected, for generating battery sensing information; and a BMS for measuring the voltage of the battery terminal, receiving sensing information on at least two batteries from each of the at least two battery modules, and determining the coupling state of the battery pack based on the battery terminal voltage and the sensing information on the at least two batteries, when at least a specific amount of current flows through a high current path between the battery pack and the host system.
