Abstract:
This battery polarity determination circuit is provided with: a battery housing unit 2 including a first contact T1 and a second contact T2 which touch the respective electrode terminals of a battery BAT; a control device 3 connected through a resistor R to a voltage lead-out point P1 to which the voltage of the battery BAT is led out and determining a polarity of the battery BAT; a connection switching circuit 4 capable of switching between a first connection state and a second connection state; and a diode D having a cathode connected to a voltage reading point P2 to which the resistor R and the control device 3 are connected and an anode connected to the ground. The control device 3 determines the polarity of the battery BAT on the basis of the voltage VP2 at the voltage reading point P2, which corresponds to the connection state of the connection switching circuit 4. The forward voltage VF of the diode D is set so that the voltage VP2 at the voltage reading point P2 becomes greater than or equal to the lower-limit value VMIN of the absolute maximum rating of the control device 3.
