Abstract:
A rail consist (2) having at least one propulsion car (10) having traction motors and at least one working car (100) having working motors. Energy storage units (18) are provided on the consist to provide power to the traction motors and the working motors. The energy storage units provide sufficient power for work mode, travel speeds and curve characteristics of the consist. The use of the energy storage units provides safety, environmental and operational benefits.
