Abstract:
Provided is a battery state determination device that determines a state in which a battery has a small short circuit or a state in which there is a high likelihood of a small short circuit occurring by means of impedance analysis. [Solution] This battery state determination device (10), which determines a state in which there is a tendency towards small short circuits, is provided with: an impedance measurement unit (11a) that measures the complex impedance by imposing on a battery module (M) that is the determination subject an AC current or AC voltage at a measurement frequency that is a frequency corresponding to a diffused resistance region in a complex impedance curve obtained by imposing a frequency-shifted AC current or AC voltage on the battery module (M); and a determination device (12) that detects the absolute value of the imaginary axis component of the complex impedance. The determination device (12) stores a lower threshold set on the basis of the measurement results of the imaginary axis, compares the lower threshold and the absolute value of the imaginary axis component, and when the absolute value of the imaginary axis component is smaller than the lower threshold, determines the battery module (M) that is the determination subject to be in a state in which there is a tendency towards small short circuits.
