Abstract:
A battery system comprises: a battery module provided with batteries having vents for discharging gas within the batteries when the pressure within the batteries rises, and also with a gas discharge section provided with an opening and guiding the gas, which is discharged from the vents, to the opening; a non-return type switch element provided near the opening at a position through which the guided gas passes and changing, when the temperature of the switch element is higher than or equal to a preset reference temperature, from a first state to a second state, the first state being either a fully open state or a fully closed state which is previously set, the second state being the other state; and a high temperature abnormality determination section which, when the switch element is in the second state, determines that the battery module has an abnormality.
