Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a battery thermal stability evaluation method that makes it possible to accurately predict the exothermic reaction behavior of a battery by enhancing the accuracy of the estimation of exothermic reaction model parameters. [Solution] This battery thermal stability evaluation method includes a measurement step for using an accelerating rate calorimeter to carry out an accelerating rate calorimetry test including a heat application step (S1), waiting step (S2), searching step (S3), and heat generation step (S4) and measuring the change of the temperature of a battery over time, and a parameter estimation step (S6) for using a battery temperature increase rate determined at least from measurement data for the searching step and heat generation step to estimate exothermic reaction model parameters for the battery.
