Abstract:
A beam control apparatus, consisting of a beam direction component and an electromagnetic field control component. The electromagnetic field control component is provided with a spherical cavity surrounded by a transparent spherical housing (301), and the beam direction component is spherical in shape and located within the spherical cavity. The beam direction component and the electromagnetic field control component rotate with respect to one another, and a gap (303) between the two components is filled with a lubricating liquid. The beam direction component has a magnetic moment or an electric dipole moment, and a controller apples a torque to the beam direction component by controlling a magnetic field or an electric field in the spherical cavity of the electromagnetic field control component, so as to control the direction of the beam direction component, thereby controlling the direction of an emergent light beam (310) of the beam direction component. The beam control apparatus provides a completely new terminal technology for fields such as free space optical communication, laser scanning, unmanned driving, laser beam driving and spatial positioning.
