Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a bearing device and machine tool spindle apparatus which make it possible to contactlessly and accurately measure the axial direction displacement of a rotating member when supporting the rotating member with rolling bearings, without positioning a measurement unit near the rotating member. This bearing device supports the rotating member in a fixed member with rolling bearings interposed therebetween, and is equipped with a displacement measurement unit which measures the rotating member axial direction displacement in the periphery of the rolling bearings by supplying a compressed gas to measurement target gaps which are formed between the rotating member and the fixed member so as to face one another in the axial direction. In addition, one or both sides of a nozzle for discharging the compressed gas is provided with a gas recovery groove for recovering the compressed gas.
