Abstract:
A support part that supports a bearing pad (60) from the outer circumferential side so as to be pivotable at a pivot position (P2) is provided. When the radius of curvature of a rotary shaft (10) is Rj, the radius of curvature of a pad surface (62) is Rp, and the radius of curvature of a reference circle (S) centered at an axial line (O) and having a radius equal to the distance between the center (O) and the pivot position (P2) on the pad surface (62) is Rb, the relationship Rj < Rp < Rb is established.
