Abstract:
A bearing device for a vehicle wheel is installed on an axle (1), and the bearing device supports a hub (2) for mounting the axle. A bearing (3) of the bearing device for a vehicle wheel has an outer race (31) in which a double-row outer raceway surface (31a) is integrally formed in the inner periphery and the hub (2) either fits in or is integrated with the outer periphery, a plurality of inner races (30A, 30B) in which inner raceway surfaces (30a) facing the double-row outer raceway surface (31a) are formed in the outer peripheries, and a double-row rolling element (32) accommodated in a rolling manner between the outer raceway surface (31a) and the inner raceway surfaces (30a). The inner peripheral surfaces of the inner races (30A, 30B) are coated with a fretting wear inhibitor (40), and the inner races (30A, 30B) are fitted on the axle (1).
