Abstract:
Provided are a bearing device for a vehicle wheel and a vehicle provided with this bearing device for a vehicle wheel, in which a motive power device that yields greater output with fewer components can be implemented without greatly changing the structure for attaching a bearing for a vehicle wheel to a vehicle body. The bearing device (1) for a vehicle wheel is provided with a bearing (2) for a vehicle wheel and a motive power device (3). The motive power device is an outer-rotor-type device in which a stator (18) is positioned on the outer periphery of the bearing (2) for a vehicle wheel, and a rotor (19) is positioned radially outward from the stator (18). The entire diametrical range (L2) of the motive power device (3) is a diameter that is smaller than an outer peripheral part (12b) of a brake rotor (12), and the entire motive power device (3) excluding a part attached to a hub flange (7) is positioned in an axial-direction range (L1) between the hub flange (7) and an inboard-side vehicle body attachment surface of the bearing (2) for a vehicle wheel. The rotor (19) is provided with an outer contour magnetic body (15) that comprises a soft magnetic material and forms the outer contour of the motive power device (3), and a permanent magnet (14) provided to the outer contour magnetic body (15).
