Abstract:
A bearing device for a wheel enabling the easy control of quality since there is no possibility of cracking even if caulking is applied thereto. The bearing device comprises an outer ring (3) having double rows of rolling surfaces on the inner periphery thereof, an inner member having rolling surfaces opposed to the rolling surfaces, and balls (1) interposed between the double rows of rolling surfaces opposed to each other. The inner member further comprises a hub ring (4) and an inner ring (2). Caulking is applied to the hub ring (4) to join it to the inner ring (2). The grain size number of the austenite grains of a caulked section (4b) is at least 6.
