Abstract:
This bearing part (10) is made of steel and has a quench-hardened layer (11) on the surface thereof. The quench-hardened layer (11) contains a plurality of martensite grains. The total area percentage of the martensite grains in the quench-hardened layer (11) is at least 70%. The martensite grains are divided into a first group and a second group. The minimum grain size of the martensite grains belonging to the first group is larger than the maximum grain size of the martensite grains belonging to the second group. The value obtained by dividing the total area of the martensite grains belonging to the first group by the total area of all of the martensite grains is at least 0.5. The value obtained by dividing the total area of the martensite grains belonging to the first group other than those having the smallest grain size by the total area of all of the martensite grains is less than 0.5. The average grain size of the martensite grains belonging to the first group is 0.97 μm or less.
