Abstract:
Provided is a bearing steel component that has a predetermined chemical composition, wherein: the number density of an oxide, which contains CaO, Al2O3, and SiO2 and which has an Al2O3 content rate of 50 mass% or more with respect to the total mass of CaO, Al2O3, and SiO2, is 3.0/cm2 or less in an equivalent circular diameter of 5 μm or more in an arbitrarily defined cross-section of the component; the Vickers hardness at a depth of 50 μm from the rolling surface is 750 or more; and the compressive residual stress of the rolling surface is 900 MPa or more. Also provided is a steel bar which is for a bearing steel component and which is suitable for obtaining the bearing steel component.
